Kanha has prepaid order system: You pay first, eat later. This means that if a black rubber band turns up in your food, your problem.
We ordered two South Indian platters for lunch yesterday and ate it till I felt something in my mouth. At first, I thought it was drumstick or some other vegetable, but I took it out of my mouth and saw a thin black strip. So I took a closer look. It turned out to be a 2 inch long black rubber band - still stretching nicely.
We reported the matter to one of the table cleaning guys, who reported it to the cashier, who in turn had a word with the guy at the service counter. That’s it. And then it was business as usual for these guys. Maybe this happens often. So, they didn’t find it particularly shocking.
I had finished most of the platter by the time I found this rubber band. So, I didn’t ask for a refund. And they didn’t offer it either, not even an apology!
Good for them that they didnt offer an apology or a refund. I would have written this review any which way. So, at least, they didnt make a loss on that transaction. But I did. I paid for food that had a black rubber band in it. And, we keep thinking street food is not good, restaurant food is cleaner!
Any way, if they dont have any self respect, their problem. They can keep feeding black rubber bands to everyone for the rest of their lives, for all I care.
Im not going back ever. Thats for sure. You can. But watch out for rubber bands nicely coated with chutney. Theyre hard to miss once you have them in your mouth.
Cost: Rs 200+ taxes.
Worth: You tell me. What will you pay NOT to find rubber bands in your food? Street food is far cleaner.
Service: self service. They serve themselves and you’ll get royally served big time!
