Kanyakumari is a very beautiful place with lots of tourists visiting this place every day. I and my family too had a lovely holiday here last month. We went from Trivandrum in a bus to Kanyakumari. We stayed at a hotel named ’Vivekananda Kendra ’. This lodging itself was a wonderful experience for us. This is a huge gated community complex spread across many acres. They have community lodging, deluxe rooms, suite rooms or even AC cottages and so we may choose any of them according to the budget. They have a good walking course, great restaurants, a peacock sanctuary and a an awesome garden. They also have a huge ground at the back which faces the sea. So early in the morning if we are interested then we may go till there and watch sunrise or watch sunset in the evening. Many inmates went as a group to see it. Moreover they also have free pickup and drop service to the Kanyakumari beach. They also offer bus services to Rameshwaram and Madurai too and back from the hotel at a cheap price. I personally recommend everyone visiting Kanyakumari to stay there for a memorable experience.
Talking about the beach, its very violent because of the strong Indian Ocean currents. There also has been many accidents because of it. A trip to the Vivekananda Rock was also a memorable one for us. We had to book a boat wait for it to arrive in a queue and once it arrives we get an awesome ride to reach this destination. The Thiruvalluvar statue is a real wonder facing the vast sea. Taking a snap below his feat will always be a treasure and a mesmerizing experience. The view from the top was really memorable.
The Kanyakumari temple is also very special and holds a lot of spiritual and aesthetic value. Usually we see Goddess only with their consort but here the Godess supposed to be a spinster and so the name Kanyakumari Devi. Moreover its one of the Sakthipeeth too where the remains of Godess Sati had fallen. So its a very important and powerful diety. The Godess looks extremely pretty dressed in colour half sari and golden jewellery studded with diamonds and other precious stones.
So overall it was a wonderful weekend trip for my family. I enjoyed a lot especially the sunrise and set at the beach and our stay at the Vivekananda Kendra. We had such a happy trip specially because of Vivekananda Kendra lodgings help and am sure everyone will just love it.
