Kareena Kareena on Zee TV comes as a breath of fresh air with Television Sitcoms dying with uncreative sense of humor and no substance.
Kareena Kareena is the story of a Chandigarh kuddi trying to find a job in Aamchi Mumbai. She has a deadline of 6 months to find a job, else it’s back to Chandigarh and marry the guy her mother has chosen for her.
In the last few days, our kuddi manages to find a job, though she had to pretend to be someone who she is not. A married homely woman who only wears saris. Fate takes another turn when she has to fill in for a friend as a RJ at Radio Curry. So, our kuddi is doing two jobs and telling a whole lot of lie to cover up.
The characterization is simply amazing. Her female boss (played by Vandana Gupte) is simply splendid. The way she keeps telling ’Kya Bolta’ in Marathi is well taken too. Her Bihari husband (Sudhir Pandey) who has a soft corner for our kuddi is good as well. And his friend, PK Srivastava is amazing too. Other characters like her grandpa ’Dadu’, neighboring Ali Chacha are characterized well too.
Our kudi (played by newcomer Kulraj Randhawa) has also done a good job for a newcomer. She manages to catch the attention of the audience with her style and charm. The way she speaks is also cool. The best part of this serial is that there are no negative characters.
All characters are very lovable and the kind we would meet in our day to day lives. This is one heck of a show, and should become very popular, bringing us back to the days of ’’Yeh Jo Hain Zindagi’’, this time 4 times a week.
