Paradise on Earth

Want to get out of the hustle and bustle of Mumbai? Wanna experience paradise on Earth? Karnala is the place for you. A mere 50 kms from Mumbai, this place is easily accessible.

I had been to the place last weekend and believe me it was an enthralling experience. Greeted by the lush green foliage and caressed by the cool monsoon breeze, this place almost put me to sleep in Mother nature’s cradle.

A range of rare and exotic species of birds including the Red Vented Bulbul, HornBill, Myna, Owls, Ashy Rain War Blur, Paradise Fly Catcher, RobinMcPie, Egrets, Sunbirds; to name a few, combined with their sweet chirping presents an out-of-the-world audio-visual treat. The cute little pond crabs scuttling along the pathway and the intermittent croaking of common bull frogs only adds to the ambience.Travelling as I did during the early part of September is the best time to visit this place. It is a time when the entire scene is replete with innumerable butterflies.

This place needs to find its way on every nature-lover’s map as it can be considered to be the Mecca of every bird-watcher.
