OH, my god. This movie was started along with KARAN ARJUN, movie was shot about 75% and then shelved. When movie released in 2000, movie flopped.
RISHI KAPOOR looked too old to play the lead opposite JUHI CHAWLA, and ANIL KAPOOR looked too young.lols.
lols, the story goes like this. AMAR(RISHI KAPOOR) is a middle class man, who is unemloyed. He falls in lov with SSEMA.(JUHI CHAWLA).The 2 get married. Meanwhile AMARS millionare friend RAJEEV(ANIL KAPOOR) who feels he can buy anything for money, falls for SEEMA and wants to spend 1 night with her.AMAR comes to know of RISHIS intentions and breaks his friendship with him, and warns him not to come in between him and seema.
BETWEEN, an aspiring model and RAJEEVS friend NEELAM(MINK SINGH) turns up at RAJEEV house once where RAJEEV’s driver RAMLAL SHYAMLAL(TINU ANAND) misbehaves with her. RAJEEV saves her and removes him from the job.
Meanwhile, AMAR meets with an accident and JUHI needs oney for the operation. When none of her close ones helps her, she truns up at RAJEEVS office and agrees to spend a night with him. But RAJEEV has a change of heart and instead gives her money for the operation.
Meanwhile, RAMLAL SHYAMLAL vowes to settle scores with RAJEEV. He starts blackmailing NEELAM abt some photos which he has of RAJEEV with NEELAM(MINK SINGH). NEELAM tells RAJEEV this and he asks her to come at his place. But instead of RAJEEV, its RAMLAL who turns up at RAJEEVS mansion, sees her all alone and rapes and murders her, and thrown her body in swimming pool.
RAJEEV gets charged for her murder, but is saved by SEEMAS statement saying that, that night she was with him in his office when the girl was raped and murdered.
When RISHI KAPOOR to know of this, he removes SEEMA from his home. It is then RAJEEV who gives shelter to SEEMA, and how from there on how the lives of all 3 protagonists takes a drastic turn is the main story.
PERFORMANCES:
ANIL KAPOOR is okay. nothing gr8.
JUHI CHAWLA was gud. RISHI KAPOOR looked out of form and too old toplay such a young role.
MINK SINGH has a very small role.
MUSIC by RAJESH ROSHAN was gud. Cinematography was gud, where the locales of CAPE TOWN have been wonderfully captured.
But the movie looked too stale right from the promos, and hardly stayed in theatres 1 week after it released.
The movie was supposed to be shot from many schedules, right from 1994 to 2000. RAKESH ROSHAN took advantage of the rising popularity of HRITHIK and himself after KAHO NAA PYAR HAIN, then decided to complete the movie and release it.
Another movie which wasted ANIL KAPOORS potential. God knows why he does such movies, when hes such a gr8 actor.
