Nature at its best!!

The first time when I heard about Kashid... I was surprised... A serene beach resort... 3 hours from Mumbai... unbelievable...

18th March... the day dawned bright and clear... we reached mumbai by 12.30pm. The hustle and bustle of “Amchi Mumbai” made us yearn for the serene, beautiful coastline at Kashid.

We were in Gateway of India by 3 pm. We had a plush looking catamaran waiting to take us across the sea. The journey was beautiful… kilometers and kilometers of no habitation was in a way belittling.

The journey is breathtaking if you get a chance to go to the deck. The view is amazing. You may have to get pally with the cabin crew… but believe me its worth it.

If you are seasick, you can still reach Kashid by road... but it would take you another 3 hours... About an hour into the journey… and we were in Mandwa. Mandwa has a small pier where the catamarans are parked. Two hours by road and you finally reach Kashid.

This beach village is in Raigad district and the road journey is comfortable. It takes you through narrow winding villages and gives you a taste of simple, rustic life that most of us have never experienced. Our stay was arranged at Prakruti Resorts… a premium beach resort in Kashid.

The place is an experience by itself. It has all that civilization has to offer sans the pressure and stress of everyday life. Good News!! Cellphones don’t work there…

Prakruti is just 5 mins away from the Kashid beach and is characterised by spectacular sea views from its rooms. Views get better as you go higher up the resort. Resort is spanned over a 20 acres of lush greenery bordering the thick forest of Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary.

The beachline is breathtaking. It is one of the most virgin beaches I have ever seen. Spending an evening on the beach, a beautiful sunset, peace and calm around you truly rejuvenate you.

The place is so complete by itself that you can stay for 2-3 days at the resort and pamper yourself. There are indoor games, a swimming pool and quite a few places of interest to visit. Prominent among them being the Murud Janjira Fort, Ganpati Temple and Boighar Dam.

The chefs at Prakruti dish out some amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners that will tantalise your tastebuds.

Kashid is best to visit after September until January. It can get exceedingly warm between March and June. The place is unspoilt and actually provides you with an opportunity to relax, enjoy and do nothing.

It’s great for a family vacation The place has calm tranquility around it, which beckons people from all over.
