We had been to Kashid in Feb05. We stayed at Sagar Beach resort. The place was at a 5 minutes walking distance from the beach. It was a small bunglow with an attached kitchen. And a few newer rooms built behind the bunglow. The bunglow had a sit-out, which was used as a dining hall. There were different types of trees and shrubs all around with melodious birds singing the songs of joy, in the midst of which was a swing(my fav place).
We occupied one of the newer rooms. The view from the terrace was breathtaking. The bunglow was surrounded by greenery and beyond that was the shimmering silver sand, fringing the deep blue sea.
Kashid is a sleepy village and the beauty of the beach is still untouched by humans. We went to the beach to capture the sunset in our camera. As the glowing ball of fire immersed in the sea, it spilt a thousand hues on the water and sky. The horizon was an inseperable mixture of sea, sky and saffron. The sand was pristine and unbelievable soft. Towards one end of here beach, beautiful shells formed a colourful carpet. I collected quite a few shells. We clicked some really amazing photographs of the setting sun. As we returned towards the cottage, we had a steaming hot meal ready. For the fish lovers, this place is like paradise :).
Other than the beach, places to visit in Kashid are the Birla mandir and the lighthouse. All in all, a perfect weekend getaway for the city dwellers.
