The four stroke bike is no vroom, but a sobber, fuel efficient vehicle with good looks. Being a 4 stroke engine, it is rather slow in pick up. (Not for guys who perform stunts!!) This bike is said to have average of 87 kmpl (Under specified conditions), actually makes it from 65 to 70 kmpl, if maintained properly. My Calibre is giving an average of more than 75 kmpl on a long drive.
I bought one in September 1999 and after a year, I feel much satisfied due to the fuel efficiency I get from it. I do not have to think twice and make my journeys to nearby stations (upto 150kms) on it. Apart from its average, the bike has good looks. Looks in terms of shape, stability while driving and colour (except the green strip in black model). The fuel tank capacity is 14.8 litres which facilitates the owner to fill it once / twice a month in an average size city, locally.
The best aspect of any vehicle is low maintenace cost. The same is the case with Calibre. My bike has never been to a mechanic except for the regular service (however I am very regular at it).
Summarising, this bike is not for people who look for power but for those who drive sobberly and are concious abou their budgets... Priced at Rs.42, 000/- the bike is an answer to Hero Honda.
