Good Product Concept Poor Part Quality

I bought 2 Kent Grand Plus machines a year back. I got a good deal in pricing. The product gives very good water quality in terms of removing hardness. We checked the water quality once and found to be in acceptable limits.Where I stay  the water TDS level is more than 1200 when I get water from bore. When we buy tanker water (8 months a year) it will be around 600-800. Even though we liked the product, it was not a smooth ride. Machine gets clogged in a week as there is sediments in hard water and there is no easy way for us to remove and clean that from the equipment. (it looks like an ICU and need specialty doctors to touch anything).

I began by buying the additional filter to remove sediments entering the machine and clogging it quiet often ( I called service person 3 times in a month RS150 per visit). In the process, I got a good rapport with the person and my service promptness increased as I call him directly for anything now. In the first 4 months the main filter, motor, carbon filter failed and all were replaced without trouble by the service person (no charge). I installed the additional filter paying RS1200. I’m running in to the second year now and purchased the maintenance package paying almost RS4000. Started the second year with a replacement of main filter (RO) and followed with a carbon filter replacement.  The other machine used by my brother was worse in failure. Good quality water is very essential for me.

I am still happy with the water quality. But I am sure that if you are depending on the KENT service lines to book service you will have some troubles to face as they are not so well organized in delivering service. If you care for water quality there are not much options available (Kent, Aqua Guard and One more product ). And the service comparison between all products are between bad, worse and atrocious.

The product technology is well thought about, but the product quality and failure rate can be quiet irritating. So if you care for good water, go for it. I have heard people from Rajasthan walks 25 miles to bring water home each time. Lot of irritating failures, follow up and some money spent - and you get good water.
