After a long search for an effective RO last year I chose the great Kent RO Grand Plus in spite of many other options available in the market. A lot of people actually discouraged me to go for it as they said that the service sucks.
I bought the RO last year on 16 June 2013 and must have got installed around 18 June 2013. It all started off well but withing 4-5 months I had an issue but it was a choke problem which was replaced after repeated followups. This happened 3-4 times in a year which was something I was surprised to see
Exactly on 15 June 2014, I was experiencing some slow filling of the RO tank but ignored it thinking it was a pressure issue from the over-head tank. Once it continued for 3-4 days I was sure its not a pressure issue but some issue with the RO itself. I called up the call center and was told by Pune service center executive that the office is just opened and to call later in the day. I forgot and could not catch up with my office work and could login a complain only 3-4 days later. The engineer then came and my myth became reality. The RO was not working. I was amazed the way Kent has designed the machine to make the RO faulty almost exactly after the completion of 1 year. Wow!
If you really look at it, it just a matter of 2-3 days that the machine is out of warranty and being asked to replace the RO Membrane. To add to the woes, the new RO membrane cost is exponentially high as Rs 3200 and it comes with ZEROOOOOO warranty. Great! What it means is, with the expertise that Kent has, this RO replacement will not last for more than 2 months and I would be expected to go for a replacement soon after. and SAGA would continue.
I tried to call the Service advisor, drop atleast 3-4 mails but in vain. I did not even get a mail from the service center. Its truly very dis-appointing. If I would have listened to my friends/neighbors I wouldn’t have been in this situation. I repent my decision.
