Kent can't Ride on its Pride

This is our second Kent unit. To anyone it should signify that we like this brand so much. And, in fact, we did enjoy the taste of the tasteless water-or "dead water" as a friend calls it. But, as time passed, the units, even our first one, required yearly visits to rectify dysfunctions.  In the case of the second unit, the need for attention has increased to some 2-3 times per year.

Customer care only responds after I tackle their Face Book page or resort to other ways to get their attention. Days pass and what is even more annoying is that I then receive several phone calls from different people in their customer care, all of whom ask the same questions. It makes me think that Kent has bad organisation and training of their staff. Lastly, one of their service persons asked if I was Christian. I’m not but I found it disgraceful that he should be bothered about my religion.

We must have purchased our first unit in 2010 or so and I gave that to my son. He is not using it at present because the flat in which he stays on rent has an Aquaguard. He would have installed the RO instead had Kent responded and attended to our requests. As it stands, Kent took its time and he is using the already installed Aquaguard.

As for us, when we shifted to Pune we bought another unit. from the beginning it gave trouble. And I hate the visits of the service people because they try to sell me that annual maintenance thing-it does not work. I have experience with those things. Plus, it is only logical that the person who comes to attend after you aishwaryasingh23 for the contract has no job satisfaction and is brain washed by the companies to sell you this and that during his "free" visits. As for what you paid, paisa hazam, khel khatam.

In Pune we recently(January) shifted and had to call Kent for re-installation. It was tedious, painful and demeaning. Five months later the unit is leaking.

The reinstallation charges were Rs. 350 plus Rs 250 for something which is unintelligible. Before that in March I had to call them for a malfunction and had to aishwaryasingh23 Rs. 400. Earlier in October 2014 I had to change the sediment filter-charges Rs 800(400 for visiting charges and 400 for the filter).

I have sent off an email to service@kent.co.in.

I can assure you that I will have to contact their Face Book page and other ways before action will be taken.

While the Governments fail to give us clean potable water in our taps, these companies feast on our water woes.
