I’ve been using Kent Pearl for last 2+ years. I had horrible time for it to get installed. The filter burst after one year and I had to beg them literally for service. After a week, it was serviced. I have written my experience on installation in a separate post. Now that I’ve used it for 2+ years, this review is more towards my experience in using it.
Two days back, the machine has stopped working after continuous leakage. The water pressure is nominal at my home and I suspect another filter burst. 48 hours have passed since I made complaint and no trace of service. The assigned personnel are busy telling me how they will plan to attend this next week - After 4 days of complaint registration and still no guarantee that it will get rectified soon.
Along with the filter, there are few myths busted here.
The filter DOES NOT work for 800 hours as promised. At max, it just works for one year(around 300 hrs) and you have to pay 1000+ rupees every year to get it changed. I’ve seen people using local made RO purifier, which gives good quality water at very low maintenance costs.
Service is a word which is taboo for Kent. This is the third time in 2+ years I’m calling them for service/installation. Never they have been proactive. I have to make at least 50+ phone calls to call center, local vendor office and the technicians assigned to work on us. They have no shame in not meeting time guidelines and probably are proud of it. It could be due to one of the following factors - Either their product design is so defective that the problems that they have to attend after installation is humongous for them to attend or they think the stupid customers can wait for any time after buying the product as they have no other way.
Anyway, I’m regretting my decision to buy Kent RO and at the first possible instance, I will change the purifier to either local made one or one with better service capability at least. I don’t think pure output is a great hallmark of Kent RO alone as most other purifiers also gives similar kind of output. Hence, Kent RO does not have any USP anymore and in fact, they have acquired the notorious name for themselves as Worst after sales service company.
My friendly suggestion to all the folks out there - Don’t go with Hemamalini or the sales personnel at any store and make the mistake of buying Kent RO and regret the decision later on like me.
