Kent RO is a over hyped product. It’s certainly regarded as a well know brand for Water Purification but this particular model showcased that all that it seem isn’t good in real life.
#1. User friendly: It’s easy to operate as you’ve to only press the plastic tap liver to get a glass of water or you can make the same liver stand if you need to take water in a big volume. 7 liter of clean water it can provide you as per brand. Part from this you cannot do anything yourself with this RO. You cannot check the PH level of Water that you’re drinking or the state of candles. It operates with a low very low watt pump that’s susceptible to voltage fluctuations. Mine pump motor was blown off because 1 day fluctuations was frequent. I got it replaced but the I had to argue with the Kent service man and with 1 more support guy to cover this replacement under warranty because I had this issue in the 4th month. They were saying that Electrical voltage fluctuation’s aren’t something that they cover on their part.
#2. Durability:
(a) RO’s Body: It has a durable body. It’s made from very good plastic. It feel very neat and compact. You can see even the candles are neatly stacked in a transparent plastic cover along with other required component. Water tap that you use is the only thing you’ve to touch to use this whole RO unit.
(b) RO Tap: Tap liver gets loose when you operate it and this might need a replacement.
(c) RO pump: RO pump is a low Watt(W) pump and a frequent voltage fluctuation can kill it. This’s the only electrical component that I think is there apart from this all component are just candles to do cleaning and only need replacement as per the quality of input supply that you’re feeding to your RO. There’re 2 more issue with pump. 1 is that after a prolonged usage starts making noise and you can hear it operating while you’re around 20 Meter away.
Pump also shows a decrease in performance after 6 months of normal usage, it starts taking more and more time to provide you the clean 7 liters water. Pump is not durable but it is heart of an RO as it seems to me because if your pump is not working well then your RO stops working immediately, as candles doesn’t stop working at once or suddenly. They show a degrade in performance with the taste of the water but pump dies because of voltage surge and aging and these things you can’t predict. Even an Electircal stabilizer can’t save a low Wattage equipment.
#3. Handy: It’s not something that you’ll keep on shifting or need to carry along here and there. It does it’s job and very compact.
#4. Style& Design: It’s very simple and yet designed to look stylish. It’s sleek and compact. You like seeing the components stacked in a neat and clean transparent plastic housing. It looks really nice.
#5. Service& Support: Service is rude! I had 2 different occasion when different guys came for service and both were arrogant man and they without any reason or provocation accused me for mis-handling the RO. I asked how and why they feel we mis handled it and they said the Tap liver isn’t loose when I asked them to replace it because I took an annual maintenance and the body replacement including the Tap was covered in it along with all the other stuff that RO needs to function properly. Service man was reluctant and didn’t want to replace the Tap just because as per him the TAP is still usable. Before this I had argument with 1 more serviceman because he didn’t want to replace the Electrical pump when it died with Electrical voltage surge. He and someone from Kent’s back-end team on phone said that Electrical surge isn’t their fault so why they need to cover for this. Support people on both occasion didn’t know what to do and they put me on hold to confirm the case with their senior and then informed me that I had to do what their serviceman is saying as they’re on site and are expert. I had some relative that worked in Kent and then I had to call him on both occasions, he did something and then both replacement were done. Service and Support both are very very bad.
I do not suggest anyone to buy this product it’s very bad when a customer pays money and then treated rudely. Electrical pump is also a considerable issue for this product.
