I own kenwood ddx-5036 in my car. This is a car dvd player with touch screen interface. You can play music as well as videos in this system. I have to appreciate this player since it provides lot of features . And looks are beatiful. It supports lof of video and music formats than its competitors pioneer, sony ..etc. The video playback is clean. These and all good but sound quality wise i didnt feel its best . It provides clean sound but lacks in bass. Earlier i had pioneer system in my old car, that provided the better bass performance than this.
In kenwood system , you hear vocals more than music, where as in pioneer you hear music and vocals. Sound quality is ok , but if you are the person you want more bass , then you might feel this system be a little flat. But if you are a classical music listener this system provides very good sq.
Even though it provides good features , the sytem is little bit slow in touch response. You cannot control the unit while driving the car. And one more thing i hate about this player is , there’s no song sorting option . Where as in pioneer it takes it in the order of aplphabatical so that you can easily sort them. But here it takes in the order of the files written date, thats very bad. So only option to organise the songs is copy in the order. While copying you have to copy one by one in the order , and if you misplaced any song you have to do it from the beginning. Where as in pioneer , its very easy job of just renaming it proceedint with some numbers.
Overall, kenwood systems are ok..but listen to pioneer before deciding factor.
