I think Kerala is uniquely a GOD’s OWN COUNTRY .... Everywhere its just green & slowly you start feeling that you are wearing green lenses .....
I went to Kerala in Nov 2005 & I think it was a right time for me to go there bcoz of the pleasant & beautiful climate during that time ... it was a 7day trip .... I did a lot of research on the internet & read a lot about Cochin & other places .... We started at Cochin & to be very frank - I did not find anything great in Cochin as what I read on the internet .. Only thing that I enjoyed was the Air & Navy exhibition that was going on the day when I left from Cochin ....
We hired a cab for our 7 day trip & chalked out the program Cochin - Munnar - Tekdi - Kumarakom - Alleappy - Kovalam. a car is a must & convenient to travel all over in Kerala ..
Munnar - A very good hill station .. very pleasant climate ... green all over ... Huge Tea gardens ... Can’t do a sight seeing in Munnar post 6 pm ..... spent 2 days here but felt 2 days were insufficient to enjoy Munnar & should stay back for another 2 days ... but ... there are always if’s & buts in life & we had a time constarint & so had to leave ...
Tekdi - It is a roller coaster ride from Munnar to Tekdi ... was not very happy bcoz I didn’t find the place as good as what I had heard ... went for the safari but could not see even a single animal but I definitely saw couple of birds ... very disappointing place ...
Kumarakom - Alleapy - We travelled this journey in a House boat & it was a very fantastic & unforgettable experience ... HOUSE BOAT is a MUST HAVE experience ... DO NOT MISS THIS ... IF U MISS THIS, THEN THERE IS NO POINT IN GOING TO KERALA ...
Kovalam - A very clean & nice beach ... very good place to be there in the evenings. ...
In the whole trip, we always felt that we have been short of time throughout ... We had a very tight schedules ... 7 days to njoy Kerala is very less ... it was like a TOUCH & GO SITUATION ...
Costwise, I think Kerala is very economical ... for 1000 bugs , u get a very decent hotel accomodation ...
All in all, a very beautiful & unforgettable trip I ever had in my life ...
