I used to travel regularly by KSRTC Volvo from Bangalore to Pune. One of my friends recommended Kesineni who had the B11R volvo service. I had booked a ticket from Pune to Bangalore on 17th May. The bus arrived at around 7 pm and it was looking good and the ambiance, AC, comfort was pretty good. Had 3 LCD TVs for good visibility. At around 9 pm , on the outskirts of Pune, it stopped at a decent restaurant, and the journey started well.
The actual problem started at 4:30 am in the morning. The bus stopped in the middle of nowhere (outskirts of Davanagere) and the attendant asked everyone to move to the next bus. When we asked for the reason, they told that about some permission problems. I checked the registration number to be KA01 and asked that if its Karnataka registration, why we need to change bus. He spoke rudely and asked us to shut and go to the other bus.
After 30 mins, both the buses started off again. But this bus was travelling at a snails pace at around 30-40 km/hr. Some of the passengers got angry and asked the driver to go bit faster as the distance to Bangalore was around 250 km and the time was already 6 am. Then suddenly they stopped the bus and some of us thought that it could be due to puncture. Then I got down and when I asked the driver, he told that the steering rod got broken and it had to be fixed. There were no mechanic shops and since it was a Volvo bus, it had some hydraulic mechanism that the driver or attendant could not do much about it. Then some of us stopped a KSRTC Rajahamsa bus towards Bangalore and reached Majestic by 12 noon.
When I contacted the KEsineni travels, they refused that it was a bus related problem and would not refund the amount.
