I usually book sleepers from redbus and take the one which is most convenient. Yesterday, I decided to take Kesineni travels as a colleague recommended it.
Firstly, the fare was Rs. 200 more than any other AC Sleeper bus in the league but I decided to go for it since, it was a reputed name in AP and it promised to reach Chennai an hour earlier.(or so it seemed).
The feeder bus bus from the picking point arrived 15mins late and kept roaming around the city for 1 hour picking up passengers for all possible destinations. Nothing bad in this, however it was a waste of an hour.(Even though I am new to the city I cant digest the fact it took 1 hour to reach collection point). Rationing of this sort by the operator got everyone late eventually.
Entering the bus I saw an LCD at each sleeper. To my dismay nothing was put on or it did not work. I addition to that the reading light at my bunk was defunct.
Serious concerns however were that
Bedsheet and pillows were stinking a bit and felt greasy and unclean.
It reached 2.5 hrs late to Chennai.
I was constantly woken up by bugs biting me.
AC was not at all effective.
I traveled Chennai to Hyd in a simillar sleeper and it reached very much on time and bedding felt much more hygienic, AC more effective and no bugs or mosquitoes were there.
Only positive thing was unlike many other sleeper buses the charging port for mobile, laptop was working. Staff behaviour is pretty much average Not good not bad.
Hence, Overpriced and not deserving the hype at best. I would take it again only if I a at a deadline to reach a place. Never if I have an option.
