I remember it like it was yesterday. My father would come through the door with that big bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. back in the ’’old days’’ KFC was a real treat. Their original recipe chicken, with it’s 11 herbs and spices, was a welcome change from the same old dinner again. That, along with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and a biscuit was a great meal.
Now fast foward to the year 2001. Would you like original recipe chicken, hot and spicy, tender roast, or extra crispy?! Or perhaps a chicken sandwich, and one of their newer side dishes? Oh yes, the times have changed! Not only does KFC have a menu broader than the Grand Canyon, but they also have more locations in my area than McDonalds! With a wider range of items to choose from, and more places to get your KFC fix, Kentucky Fried Chicken is an ideal choice for a family dinner.
Or is it? Has anyone looked at the calorie count on just one piece of original recipe? Add the fat content to the calorie count, and your on the way to the hospital for a double bypass! Yes, it is greasy, and fattening. But KFC is still ok for a treat once in a while. Just once in a while though!
KFC is also a great deal. With their value meals, family meals, and coupons, you can get alot for your money...including dessert! my local KFC offers a family meal which consists of 10 pieces of chicken, 3 large sides, 4 biscuits, a chocolate chip cake (that’s an entire cake!) and a 2 litre soda for only $12.99. Feeding a family of 4 for only $12.99 is a great deal.
Overall, I recommend Kentucky Fried Chicken to anyone looking for a tasty meal, for a great price.
