I remember when I was in High School. In our cafeteria we had french fries every day with lunch. By the middle of my Sophomore year I could even look at a french fry with out wanting to gag. I remember that as a treat my mom would schedule my doctors appointments to coincide with my school lunch hour and then after my appointment we would go to Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch, before she would bring me back to school. I remember really looking forward to those days because I knew that I would be able to get mashed potatoes. Mmmm mashed potatoes sound so wonderful when you have had nothing but fries 5 days a week.
I remember I would always get the same thing a 2 piece dinner, with a biscuit or roll, 2 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes and cool slaw. I also loved the cole slaw.
These days the menu has increased quite a bit and so has the choice of side dishes. I still like to get mashed potatoes and cole slaw, but my kids like to get mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. My husband prefers the mashed potatoes and baked beans. They also now serve fries as well.
In addition to chicken dinners you can also purchase sandwiches or a delightful chicken pot pie, that is of course much bigger than the frozen ones you can buy at the super market, and it is a lot more filling.
To feed a family of four I believe the 12 (maybe its 18 Im not sure) piece family meal is around $21.99 so it can be kind of pricey for fast food, but for some reason it feels a little more like a home cooked meal than other fast food meals do. So when ever I am having an extremely busy day and I need to get something for my family for dinner, I will usually head to Kentucky Fried Chicken or Boston Market. Usually if its a really busy day I choose Kentucky Fried Chicken because they have a drive thru, and our nearest Boston Market does not.
As for the quality of the food. It is ok, its not gourmet its fast food, so you kind of get what you came for. The chicken is quite greasy but still tastes pretty good, and I have already said how much I love the mashed potatoes and cool slaw.
In a pinch Kentucky Fried Chicken is the meal of choice.
