A KFC opened up near me in March 2000. So until then I had never tasted one. Fair enough I have had Southern Fried chicken before, but not the real thing.
Obviously all the main meals involve chicken in some form.
There is ....
The original recipe meal - 2 bit of chicken, chips and a side for £2.99
The variety meal - 3 bits of chicken, 2 hotwings, chips and a side for £3.99
Tower burger - a chicken burger with salad, mayo and a hash brown, chips and a side - £3.49
Crispy strips meal - 5 crispy strips, a dip, chips and a side - £3.49
Twister meal - a tortilla bread with 3 crispy strips inside with lettuce, tomato and mayo wrapped up, chips and a side for £3.49
Kids meal - a piece of chicken, chips, a side and a toy - £2.49
For the side portion you can choose either juice, coleslaw, gravy, corn on the cob or beans. Each meal come as a regular size, but you can get it made large for 30p more. So your chips and side get made to a large size.
The desserts are .....
ice cream sundae - 70p
Doughnut - 60p
A good thing is you can buy a bottle of juice for £1. It is a 1.5l and this way you get fizzy juice instead of the flat stuff I usually get. There is Tea and Coffee as well.
The best value thing out of here is the bargain buckets ....
For £9.99 you get 10 bits of chicken and 4 fries
For £11.49 you get 12 bits of chicken and 5 fries
and for £12.99 you get 14 bits of chicken and 6 fries.
The good points to this fast food place is the coating. It is made up of 11 secret herbs and spices and tastes great. Chicken is probably my favourite food also. The staff always get the order right as well - I doubt there is much to get wrong though.
The bad thing is when the chicken has been lying about the shop for a while. It gets tasteless and brittle. It is all dried up and these are the times when I wished I had went else where. This is happening quite often thesedays.
But I will continue to go back as the coating really is the best!
