The theme is good and the music depicts it to the core. Khushi is a sweet blend of mushy love songs and dance numbers. There is ample amount of freshness in the music and that keeps the interest of the listener intact as the album progresses. Not much variation and experiments have been carried out and there is hardly any effort to stuff the varied emotions into one single album. Hai Re Hai is fun, naughty love song while Tere Bina compels the listener to loose himself to the music and just dance till the song ends. Jiya Maine Jiya is an intense romantic number.
Khushi Aayee Re Aayee Re is exuberant, lively and apt for title song while Aaja Piya ends the album leaving the listener mesmerized after a smooth ride. But, even the smooth ride is hit by occasional bump, like the song Good Morning India, it really makes mockery of the lyrics as a mixture of Hindi, English and Bengali leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Anu Malik does not disappoint and delivers, but his music is not complete unless there are few “inspirations”, and thus, we find shades of old songs in this new album too, but still credit to Anu Malik for providing entertainment to its best form.
Lyrics by Sameer are good and all the singers excel. Alka Yagnik, KK, Shaan, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Hema Sardesai and Sunidhi Chauhan form the formidable team of the playback and impress. Those who are romantic and sentimental, Khushi is sure to bring Khushi in their life.
