I guess this was the best line up metallica had. The present members, James hetfield, Lars Ulrich and the legendary Cliff Burton along with the speedy Dave mustaine formed a dream come true combination.
The album defins what you mean by trash metal and is all speedy and pumps you up.
There is solid guitaring throughout this album, it’s fast and classy. Cliff Burton is a powerful presence on the bass. Dave Mustaine as usual has his speedy trashy contribution. Hetfield perfectly fits in as a rhythm guitarist.
So basically it is a great album with some awesome guitaring and drumming, defining what trash is all about.
How ever the lyrics are kind of immature. Hetfields’s voice as well is immature and lacks the heaviness which metal requires.
how ever as an album it is great and as a metallica fan it is a must buy. Hit the lights, Motor breath, Whiplash....etc are really solid trashy songs, which pump life anytime into you.
