Folks’ I have both an aquila and an rd. an rd is still the most awesome thing to have been sold in india. its seriously not fair to be comparin an aquila to it. 2 stroke 350 against a 4 stroke 250. street to a cruiser.
anyway(ill do my bit of comparison as well :) )...
ive liked the aquila just as much. amazin on good tarmacs. verrry comfortable on long distances(especially if you have a bag to rest your back on). the tires let you corner neat and fast. for some reason settles your peace like many cruisers do. [an rd will beg you to get blasted and your only defense is your common sense :)] havent had the requirement to screech and halt but the brakin seems pretty adequate for deceleratin. the tires I was told were bad but havent had any issues. they seem pretty huggy. did the mettupalyam-ooty ghats with an average of above 60kmph. I am sure I could have done better on the rd’ but thats because of the acceleration out of corners an rd can provide.
the bike sounds pretty meek’ I suspect the cats and hope to do somethin about it soon. until I got used to it the bike swayed at low speeds. very uncomfortable on bad roads.
i paid 1.6 lacs. bikes are expensive. the 1.1 litre cruisers one of reviewers was mentionin is goin to be priced close to 8+ lacs(though its rumored to be at 5 lacs)(like the vmax). 5 lacs for the bike and an additional 80% for shippin and customs. aqula is priced close 3, 250 usd and kinetic seems to be sellin it to us without us havein to pay the extra 80%. I know hyosung is no comparison to yamaha or honda’ but a similar honda or yamaha will cost more as well.
so yeah’ I think an aquila is worth 1.6 lacs. an rd is worth 1.6 lacs as well :) (lucky we dont have to spend as much on it though)
like many of us are guessin the price of an aquila could drop. hope its not bad quality parts that make it cheaper.
