I bought a Nova 135 around 5 months back and would like to share my experience with it. Before buying it, I had done a lot of research and everyone suggested the Nova over the Honda Activa. Now after five months, I feel I have taken a GOOD decision but not the BEST decision. I have mixed reactions on the vehicle. I am listing down the Goods & the Bads.
Performance: Pickup and Speed are the best in the class. I agree with many other owners that even bikes feel shy when the Nova 135 roars. It is excellent for city traffic and it can carry two heavy persons with ease and still be the fastest at the traffic lights.
Ride Comfort: The seating is excellent within the city. It can seat two people comfortably. But it is a bit inconvenient on long drives.
Mileage: Good mileage. It gives me 45 to 50, which I am happy with in Hyderabad. And the storage is also excellent. I can keep my helmet, all the documents and my daily shopping into the under-seat cabin.
Quality: I am very disappointed with the build quality. The quality of the material used for the body is very inferior. It does not give a 45K worth look. The finishing is equally bad. I suppose the guys out at Kinetic spent all the money on the engine and ended up using scrap material for the body.
Looks: Nova 135 does not have the best of the looks. I Activa were to get 8/10 for looks, I would give Nova 4/10. It does not make heads turn. It brings a feeing that it is any other gearless vehicle. You will not be a star within your circle with looks of this vehicle.
Service: I have tried two service centers in Hyderabad and am not happy with their service. All that the mechanics know is “Nova has the Best engine” apart from that, any minor problem and no one can answer!
My overall verdict: Nova 135 is for those who want the best when it comes to utility and performance and care least about the looks and the public awareness of the vehicle.
