Good, fuel-thirsty vehicle

My friend purchased the Kinetic Style two years ago. Here is what all he has to say about the vehicle

Style and finish:

The Kinetic style does not seem to have a very good finish. In fact, my friend was commenting that small vehicles like the Spirit, or Scooty impress far deeper than the Style. This is of course an exaggeration, but the vehicle is not stunning or stylish- certainly, it is not worth being named Style. The vehicle would look puny and stupid without the spare-tyre and rear view mirrors on either side.

Performance

The vehicle picks up speed quickly and succeeds to get him across the square before most of the others which means it does generate a good power. The vehicle is stable and has a pretty good suspension. However, due to the lack of ground clearance, the thing bumps into speed breakers regularly. The Style can carry a pillion easily. Though it’s pick-up gets affected with a pillion, but not so much as to cause a problem. It remains stable at 50kmph even with another person. Moreover, the road conditions need not be superb for a smooth ride. Even on half constructed roads or roads heaped with gravel and sand, the vehicle hugs the ground and doesn’t bounce too much.

Mileage

The negative aspect of the Kinetic Style is its mileage. The vehicle my friend owns gives him an average of 35kmpl which is sick compared to the Sunny he previously owned (45kmpl!). Comparing their power, you’d see the comparison is unfair. But the figures don’t really impress. The promised fuel capacity of the vehicle was four litres more than the real one! The fuel indicators can at times be really deceptive.

Safety

The vehicle is very stable on all speeds upto 55kmph. Beyond that, the vehicle tends to turn sharply with a slight deflection of the handle-bar. The vehicle has a good braking capacity and handling ease. However, the rear tyre tends to skid greatly when brought to a halt even on speeds beyond 30kmph. The skidding however is not very dangerous as it follows the line for just about long enough for you to realise you’re skidding. The vehicle’s lights are good enough for city rides, but not powerful enough to be liberal with speed on darker roads. Overall, it is a safe vehicle to be on.
