After having visited the honda, kinetic and suzuki showrooms and having read the reviews on this site, we had shortlised Aviator. I took my dad to have a look at the vehicle. He expressed his opinion that the vehicle was very heavy and too bulky for a lady rider to use. We spoke to 2 of the customers who had puchased the vehicle sometime back and had bought the vehicle for service. All of them were of the opinion that this vehicle was not suitable for ladies. This left us reviewing the other choices we had.
I had also liked the Kinetic Flyte earlier. However, had concerns since the company has been bought over by Mahindra and Mahindra. We decided to anyways check out the scooterette again.
We test rode the vehicle and found it a little more ligher than the Aviator. More importantly, we found it easy to handle and manover. The dealer also offered us a good exchange price for my old kinetic. And also some discount on cash purchase. Apparently, theres some sort of exchange scheme being offered by the company to promote sales. The dealer also assured us that the vehicle will not be phased out of the market, although the company had been bought over.
I was looking for a vehice that was easy to handle, with good boot space and a decent mileage for city riding purpose. This vehicle met all these needs and at a lower price than Aviator. I bought the vehicle.
Now having used it for over 2 weeks -
I find the vehicle easy to handle, has good shock absorbers, putting it on center stand too is easy. 2. The seat height is ok for my height of 5.3 in.
Some of the reviews said that the engine does not seem like a 125 cc engine. Well, I dont really know how to guage the engine capacity. So, cant comment on that. All I can say is that its good enough for me.
I had also read in some reviews that the ground clearence is lesser in this vehicle. I have not experienced this more than once over these 2 weeks. I travel about 20 kms everyday on Bangalore roads that has its share of humps and ups n downs. I mildly hit once when I was going pillion and was around 20 km speed-so dont think you can zip across a hump with a pillion
Also, as far as pick up goes - I have no problem.
Mileage so far appears to be about 35 km. This is expected to pick after 1st service.
The boot capacity is really good!
The front fuelling - is not really a plus point - cos I anyways get off the bike - as the petrol pipe comes uncomfortably close to the rider while fuelling.(and I end up opening the boot - to pay for the petrol! so that purpose of not having to open the boot is lost.)
The fuel indicator is quite misleading and confusing. The fuel indication needle shoots from 2 litre indication to 1 litre indication very quickly(even before you have driven much distance) and then just stays there for a long time, then gradually lowers. I have not fuelled more than 2 liters at a time - so dont know the tank capacity.
The magnetic key lock - I have hardly used this ever since I bought the bike. Its much quicker to just turn the handle lock and walk away
Also the horn of the bike sounds like small childs whistle and is not very loud either !
Overall review is that am happy with the purchase of this bike!
