Great vehicle, far ahead of the race.

I am no mechanic to know how a vehicle operates, but am a savvy consumer. I spent about a week test driving and researching all scooters fitting my requirements. Scooty Pep+, Streak, Honda Access, Activa, Bajaj Pleasure, Yo Smart and Sym were the ones to make it to the "test-drive" phase. Finally I selected Sym Flyte for some serious advantages and have been a proud owner since March 2009 in Indore, MP. Here are a few reasons for my selection::

  1. Comfortable driving: It is a light-weight vehicle ideal for city maneuvering and for ladies. The contoured ergonomic front seat makes long rides smooth. The shock-ups are pretty good for bumpy roads. The 4-in-1 magnetic key is an added security bonus.

  2. Powerful engine: The 125CC silent, yet powerful engine makes pinnion ride as comfortable as it can be.

  3. Huge Luggage Space: The 22 ltr space is enough to fit my my weekly grocery shopping, and something more. Any sized helmet can easily fit in. The light is appropriately placed to illuminate entire luggage area in pitch dark.

  4. Front fuel-topup: This is a big PLUS, espcially for my wife, so she doesn’t have to get down and hold the scooter uncomfortably in one hand while unlocking the luggage compartment to disengage the fueltank. Now she just sits and moves the main key to unlock the fuel tank right in the front. 5. Good Dealership/Support: I was fortunate to to have Mehta Motors as the dealers for my Flyte. They were very straight forward from the get go and never made any promises.

Plus, it comes with 3-year warranty, longest in scooters. The realistic mileage I was told is about 50-55 kmpl, after 1000 kms, IF the vehicle is driven properly then. Apprantly how we drive the vehicle in first 1000 km decides the lifelong milage of ANY vehicle (cars incl). The initial "gear rub and wear" has to do something. It is recommended to drive around 40km/hr and take gradual pickup only. Check type pressure every week. 6. Price: I got mine for 42K on road + 750 for steel guards. :: Now, my wish list to make it better: The indicator "beep" shouldbe made standard. I got mine fitted during first service for Rs 50. The side foot support is slightly hard and occasionally needs to be pulled out by hand. :: So, I will recommend this scooter to ladies, office goers, power hungry individuals and anyone looking for a nice, tension free experience. Please have a safe and enjoyable "Flyte", the winner of Scooter-Of-The-Year award in 2008.
