I inherited a Kirby heritage II about a year ago, and since I had another vacuum I set it aside and didnt use it until just the other day. I was very impressed at how much more suction and cleaning power the Kirby had! I wish I wouldve found out sooner.
I took it into my local vacuum and sewing center for a routine cleaning and belt change, . As I was talking to the serviceman, he informed me that my vacuum was $1100 new. And that was 10 years ago! I was floored! No wonder it had incredible suction and seemed to get everything, all of the dust and cat hair, I accidentally ran over a lego on the carpet and it didnt suck it up, which is how my other vacuum broke. My Kirby has several attachments including a beater bar.
I can only purchase the bags for it in one place in my town, they do not sell them in the stores. They can be kind of spendy. The serviceman told me that no matter how full the bag is it will have the same constant suction. Which most other vacuums dont have that capability. I love the Kirby vacuum and wished I wouldve discovered it sooner!
