Guilt is something that follows a person until his death. You can never forgive yourself until you confront it. That guilt elevates a person above anything else in the world. Regardless of socioeconomic class disparities among Afghans, the story of Amir and Hassan has succeeded in winning hearts across the world.
Khaled Hosseini’s “The Kite Runner” is a compelling introspection of human connections set against the chaotic backdrop of Afghanistan. It dives into the deep and enduring friendship of two young boys, Amir and Hassan, as well as the horrific betrayal that changes their lives forever. The novel depicts how, even in the midst of adversity and hardship, human ties can withstand the test of time and leave an everlasting impression on one’s life winning hearts all over the world.
The pacing of the story might be a slower one and difficult to read for beginners but overall it is a pure masterpiece. A beautifully crafted tragedy where redemption is expressed through the protagonists. a must read in my opinion.
