This TV soap ’’ Kkusum ’’ , in my opinion is teh most disgusting portrayal of woman someone can think of , and I am definitely not surprised that Ekta Kapoor has a charm of selling kinky and cheap soaps to the common household.
The whole idea of a woman battling the forces of nature is so untrue and uncommon that , it has a very deep impact on the mental understanding of marriage and its meaning.
I used to watch this program some time ago , cos I come home at around 9.00 PM and have my dinner then and my mother and sisters are glued to the TV set at this time.
Last weekend a couple of my cousins and relatives ( age group 8 - 23 ) were home and as usual everyone watching this dumb soap. I was silently having my dinner at a distance . And suddenly there was break and my cousing aditi(13) suddenly asked her sister reshma(9) as to whom and when she would marry , to which she replied that she would look for someone like Siddhrath ( Of kkusum) , and if he died she would look for someone like Abhay or Aryaman .
And even if they died she would still go and marry someone else , and if they too died she would marry some one else and then moments later everyone joined in the conversation about marriages and second and third marriages .
What I appreciate is that , people are actually talking about such things in open today , but a serial like Kkusum is so addictive that , people who know/ do not know the meaning of marriage are actually thinking beyond third marriages.
Its actually creating a very bad picture of marriages and its meaning in the mental frame of these young people .
In the conversation , in fact my cousin asked my sister to look out only for a rich husband , so that it would be easy for her to find another husband if he died .
I would really not encourage any one to see such kind of soaps . The story portrayed in the serial may want to be loked very realistic, but its actually playing a havoc on the young people’s minds .
I personally do not recommend this to anyone .
There are others in the same line , which I do not recommend like ’’ KASAUTI ZINDAGI KI’’ in which a lady have sex with someone and delivers a child , and then marries someone else , and then remarries her lover .
This is not the kind of things we need to know from these soaps , The current generation is a ’’ Sab chalta hain ’’ kind of generation . But , we need to understand the fact that in life such things ’’nahin chalta’’.
