Kodaikanal - a beautiful place in Palani hills. It is really a heaven in the sky but touching the earth. At the hight of almost 7000 from the sea level, Kodaikanal is between the clouds itself.
I wondered when I reach there and came to know that there is not a single Fan in the whole Kodaikanal. Isnt it sounds strange to your ears. But yeah, what you heard is correct - there is not a single fan in the whole Kodaikanal. Air-condition is beyond the imagination. But one thing I must say that it is not really required.
There is cold throught the year. The main season over there is from April to June in the year. By end of the year it becomes too cold and that may be unbearable for tourist especially from Mumbai or any other such humid place.
As far as shopping is concern, there is nothing to buy much except few handicraft items made by local people over there. One great thing you must taste over there is Homemade chocolates made by local public. It tastes really good and you also get tasty flavours in that.
One point I will say that is not comfortable for tourist. They charge for camera also to take snaps wherever you go for sight seeing. It varies from 10 rupees to 25 rupees depends on the place. Now if you pay so much amount and calculate, than it will be equivalent to a new camera roll, which is not economical.
Madurai is nearest to Kodaikanal and one can arrange a one day trip to Minakshi temple at Madurai. Worth watching.
Concluding the review, I will suggest that it is one of the best place to spend a vacation. A great hill station for holidays. And for honeymoon couples, I will say it is worth of it.
So enjoy your holidays at Kodai kanal and make your trip memorable.....
Enjoy ........ !!!!
