If you ask me to describe the movie in 2 words ..
then those 2 words would be :
PAISA WASOOL !
i say don’t even look at the reviews in papers, magazines, sites, TV etc. NOT even this one if u don’t want to... Just go and watch the movie...
it left me spellbound.. completely...
one humble request..
guys .. please DONT ask for pirated CDs of this movie .. after quite some time .. we have a commercial movie that NEEDS to be a huge hit .. so that indian producers .. try to be more different .. to make BOLLY greater than HOLLY
so .. i’ll give a detailed review now ...
STORY:
Well hritik plays a mentally retarded Man in the movie .. who’s still in class 7th but grown up physically ... and he’s bullied by the bad guys.. the main bad guy esp harasses him a lot .. then one day hritik and priety end up calling Aliens to their hillstation city .. and an alien gets left behind by mistake .. and hritik and his little friends find him and befriend him .. and the remaining story is about how ’’JADOO’’ ( the name they give to the alien .. coz of his powers ) helps them in many ways..
i wont tell more about the story now .. coz that’s pretty much it ..
DIRECTION:
Rakesh Roshan has done a wonderful job as a director .. there are almost no glitches in the direction .. and the attention for details is gr8 .. if u see carefully .. in one small scene .. hritik’s name ’’ROHIT’’ is visible inside his pencil box ( like all school kids write it ) .. that scene lasts for only 3 seconds or so .. the story is told very nicely too..
SONGS:
Songs are OK on an average... but title song ’’koi mil gaya’’ and ’’idhar chala mein udhar chala’’ are very hummable ... and really very nicely picturised and presented..
but the major negative point of the movie lies here... songs are added just for the heck of it .. a few songs were really needed .. like the ’’doggy’’ dance song ( ’’it’s magic it’s magic’’ ) .. which really blows everyone away ( tho it’s not hummable ) ..
rest of the songs could have been done away with ... rajesh roshan has done a nice job again ..
PERFORMACES:
Hritik
It’s his movie all the way.. right from beginning to end.. he’s at his BEST in the movie.. there’s not even a single scene where he’s not perfect... as a matter of fact.. he’s perfect..
Priety
She doesn’t have that big role in the movie.. but whatever she has done.. is very good too.. her dimples really spark up the screen when needed !
Rekha & Johnny Lever
She’s wasted in the movie.. doesn’t have more than 5 mins in the movie.. but she’s looking very sober.. jhonny is wasted too..
Baccha party
all the kids have performed nicely .. especially the chotta SARDAR.. he gives a lot of light moments in the movie...
Jadoo ( the alien )
looks cute .. but still the alien isn’t THAT great as you would expect after watching the first half .. could have been better .. but isn’t bad either .. i’m neutral about the alien and it’s performance ( in a few scenes it’s TOO much .. like when rekha HUGS the alien !!! )
Miscellenious:
There are almost 6+ ADS imbibed in the story...
Bournvita, hero honda, emami, coke ( even the ALIEN holds the CAN !!!! full of pesticides or what ? ) etc. etc.
A great FAMILY MOVIE.. completely time pass.. and fun too ...
Ok guys... I still have lots of things to say.. i’ll add them to this review tomm .. right now I gotta run .. vaise bhi.. us friends bunked college’s 2nd half to go to watch it.. didn’t get the baclony seats.. so had to sit in the lower area.. and look up at the screen for 3 hours.. so neck is paining .. and there was lot A LOT of hooting and clapping .. and I think it has excited a LOT .. so will write more tomm with a more calm mind ..
