I would like to share my experience of my Kotak life insurance policy!
1st year: Their executive will chase you. They will be there for you everywhere/ anywhere, you want them to be! You will be promised a lot of things including prompt customer service! all the plans are explained to you very nicely, there are many reminder calls and finally it lasts till you pay for the insurance product.
2nd year onwards: There are no follow up calls, no premium reminder calls from the executives, simply a reminder note will be sent, which will have a disclaimer written" In case of non- receipt of premium notice also it is binding on the customer to pay on time".
To add to that when you call the registered office for any query you are rudely given two numbers to speak to - customer policy care dept. 66215555 and toll free no. 1800 2098800. So when you pay you premium amount, you check out for your receipt or any query, you will be directed rudely to the toll free no.
In my case, there was no reminder call ever from the executive who had sold me the policy, nor have I heard from him since a long time. When I made my payment vide cheque and called up 66215999 some lady called Ms. Dipali answered rudely that the query will not be dealt there but will have to call the nos. mentioned above.
On calling the no. 66215555 the automated voice answering keeps on repeating and no body answers the call. On calling the toll free no. I was attended to but once again for sending the receipt faster, thay want me to send an sms! what a customer delight!
You pay, you call, you follow up, you send sms! So guys, if anybody has had a a better experience, pl. share with me.
