One free advice from me. Stay away from Kotak mahindra Kozhikode/ calicut.
Tempted by the higher interest rate I wanted to open a saving a/c in their bank.
Their employee contacted me and asked me to open a premium a/c, when I said that I just wanted a NORMAL saving bank a/c he was little irritated. When I insisted on opening a NORMAL a/c, he asked me to deposit 1 lac in the bank. I said I will deposit only the minimum amount of 10000.
Then he made all sorts of excuses.
I opened a/c in HDFC, AXIS, ICICI and Canara bank using the same documents i.e my PAN card, Passport and address proof. He took my cheque and kept it for a week. I strongly insisted that if its a problem in opening an A/c I want all my documents back in the same condition. I also requested never to call at noon.
1 day after taking by documents I received a call from the bank employee saving my documents were not proper and I cant open an a/c. I told him to return everything back, next day he said he will try again. I told him if its a problem, I don’t want to open an A/c he insisted. Every time he called during afternoon hours and complained about the lack of documents.
This happened for a week. Finally when he called again I really lost my head and told him that I wanted to speak to his Manager. He said he is on leave and abruptly cut my call.
He kept on cutting my call and I kept on calling till I finally spoke with the bank manager who was not apologetic at all.
What I want to tell everybody out here is please stay from Kotak mahindra kozhikode bank.
The abundance of parking space in front of their calicut branch is a testimony to their service and their lack of customers.
I will never ever bank with them or advise anybody to bank with them.
