I used to travel through KPN from chennai to Truchy. This used to be a dream for me. Infact I used to buy toy buses and name it KPN and play with them. the service, courtesy and quality used to be good.
In the recent past I have travelled from chennai to bangalore and back atleast 10 times on official visits. Only thing I can say is "It sucks"
First of all, if you are travelling by KPN, do not make the mistake of asking the drivers "When will the bus reach the destination".
In other travels the drivers/cleaners usually give an approximate time and say that the journey time may vary based on the traffic"
However in the so called PVT India LTD! the drivers get annoyed consistently. what is bad in being curious to know a tentative time one reaches. "Specially with old ppl who travel alone and who need to be picked at the destination"!
This was not on one occation, but on all 11 occations I travelled with this bugging travels.
Coming to the quality of the bus! I have travelled in their VOLVO, AC, NON AC, 2+1 etc.
Although priced atleast 15 - 20% higher than the others, the seats stink. The behavior of the drivers and cleaners stink too.
I had to pay 455 bucks for a non ac dirty bus from bangalore to chennai. I have got into other buses(SRS, Sangeetha, sharma etc) where I got a AC ticket for 440 bucks and the buses were relatively great.
On 3 occations, the hand rest was either broken or damaged. I ended up scratching my hand once and started bleeding.
More than any thing else, these guys keep stopping at each and every small town to enable the parcel service. They stop at each town for atleast 15 mins and there may be delays if connecting parcels(through other buses) are delayed.
Now I know why the drivers can never answer the question "When will the bus reach the destination approximately?"
For god’s sake do not travel by this operator and spoil the entire trip.
