* * * * * * * Escapades of Krazzy4 * * * * * * *

Our conscious mind is a mask of illusion.   Every night we give rest to this illusion and every morning we wear back the mask.   We believe it is true and enjoy each moment of it.   We walk outside with the mind which we think is in our control.  We expose our mind to various emotions and it takes a beating from every corner.   One who asks for love didn’t receive it.   Things are not happening according to our desire.    It is natural that we get emotional at this stage.  What happens then?   Anger takes control of our mind.   We react and we are branded as crazy.   When we cannot react?  We feel gloomy and sorrows take over.   When we are over pampered, love takes our mind.   When we love our country, patriotism take over.   When duty takes over?   We can find these take over in every corner of our life.    As told by OG Mandino, “our mind is capable of making a hell out of heaven and heaven out of hell”.

Welcome to a mental hospital, where every incumbent have a story to tell.   Raja (Arshad Warsi) is here due to his bad temper.  He gets angry fast and this angry behaviour broke his love with Shika (Dia Mirza).    Dr. Mukharjee (Irfan Khan) who get to this place on his over emphasis on work.  Discipline and control was his principle but he lost control of his mind.     Gangadhar (Rajpal yadav) a true Gandhian, still fighting for the freedom where in his mind freedom is yet to be received and thinks that he lives in the period of Gandhi and Nehru.   Dabboo (Suresh Menon) who doesn’t speak, where love from everybody pampered him and he reached to this stage.   Dr. Sonali (Juhi Chawla) believes that these patients are all set to be recovered but short of exposure and takes them to a cricket match.  On the way she was kidnapped and blackmailed.  Crazy 4 is all about how the 4 crazy people save the life of Dr. Sonali and get themselves back on life’s track.     Who was behind the kidnapping, whatt was the intention, how the crazy people save her…watch the film to find out more.

It is a film which has a length of less than 2 hours.     The film starts well with good load of comedy and nice visuals.     While I was expecting an all out comedy film it was a mixture of serious and comedy.   The theme is serious but gave a comic touch in its presentation.  The Director made it as a point to make it different from the slap comedy brand films.     The film is based on a very thin plot and the suspense is given away too early.    This made the film slow in the second half where the first half was well paced.   The plot was not sufficient to carry director’s great intentions.     Many loose tags in the script made the film to an average light entertainer.  If the writer and director took a little more care on the scripting the movie would have been wonderful.

Rajpal Yadav once again stole the show from others.   Arshad Warsi was good with an energetic performance.  Irfan Khan and Suresh Menon were good in their roles.   It was a pleasure to see Juhi again on big screen.  Dia Mirza is limited to a small role.   Rest of the cast was good.

Music of the film was average plus.  Lyrics need special mention.   Whereas the choreography was superb!     The Bhool Bhulaiyaa numbers with fingers improved and presented in one song.    The songs pictured on Rakhi Sawant (hot item number but presented well), Shahrukh Khan (huge sets) and Hritik Roshan (With credits, but good dance by HR), all are well pictured, colourful and sizzling.

Cinematography was brilliant and editing was ok.

Timing of comedy was good but I thought the director should have used the comedy a bit more, considering the plot was so thin.   The movie definitely bought some good comic scenes but fall short of a great comedy to bring down the house.

There are certain scenes in which the director created wonderful comedy, especially with Arshad Warsi’s anger.  Brilliant!

Overall the movie is a light entertainer, but not strictly falls into the category of a comedy film for the good dose of thoughts and seriousness filled frequently even though in comic format.  The producers will be having a laugh with collections.  The movie is getting a good report and houseful at box office.  The director can relive on the fact that he delivered a different product but have to strive more to make a perfect film.   The film is recommended for a watch!
