Krisons, as earlier mentioned in another review is the same brand which use to manufacture VCP/R years back. I am happy that they are back with the new set of electronic gadgets. Based on the image brand , I had recently got this DV-733. A small R&D on the product could reveal the following facts. This product’s DVD MPEG DECODER card is assembled in china with Taiwanese Chipsets onboard. Basically a Progressive Scan player, though its not of much use in india.
PROS:
A) This player had got a SUNPLUS 8200 A + SUNPLUS 6300 A chipset attatched to it.
B) It equips a SANYO / SONY DVD LOADER. The image and sound quality of the product is excellent.
C) It supports dual decoding including DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 AND DTS 5.1 , other features include PCM PCM 1660 2 channel stereo.
D) Supports DVD - Audio with dts 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 output
E) The menus are user friendly and can be setup easily. Another plus point is that it has got a VGA output which could be easily connected to a computer monitor.
F) More than worth the purchase price compared to other brands in india.
CONS:
A) Once u select 5.1 output , the normal left and right channels also delivers only 5.1 left and right output. Actually this should contain a mixed output.
B) A very weak remote, key pads are also not good.
C) Amplified through home theatre , When there is no recording of audio track on FL, FR, CEN, RR, RL , noise exists in 5.1 audio mode , you may hear the reading noise of the dvd loader.
