A worthy sequel to KMG

Krrish has all the elements of a great superhero motion picture. Krrish is filled with solid character development, self-referential humor, effects-enhanced action. A worthy sequel to the 2003 blockbuster, KMG will deposit fans somewhere on the satisfaction spectrum between quietly pleased and overjoyed.

Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) is born with superpowers thanks to the legacy left behind by his father and Jadoo. He lives with his over-protective grandmother (Rekha) who wants to shield him from the world. But when he encounters Priya (Priyanka Chopra), he realises all that he’s missed out on.

Priya, working for a TV channel in Singapore, looks upon Krishna as an amazing story material, unaware about his true feelings for her. She invites him to Singapore on the pretext of marriage but Krishna’s problems begin when his powers are exposed to the world. To protect his identity, Krishna becomes Krrish....

The plot of the film is very slick, and though the whole movie hangs on krrish and his antics, Rakesh Roshan, with his directorial skill, handles the plot very well. The story has some minor foibles that can be overlooked, however.

Hrithik has turned in a very mature performance, and surprises with his good delivery, but the one actor who really impresses is Naseer. He is hilarious in the news reading scenes. Priyanka teeters between decent and lousy, and Rekha supports well.

The songs range from excellent to just plain awful. ’Pyaar Ki Kahani’ literally makes you want to commit suicide .Lol.While numbers like ’dhoop nikalti’ and ’chori chori’ are hummable. The best song in the film is definately ’’Dil Na Diya’, a racy number .

KRRISH is about 3 hrs long. Although Rakesh Roshan’s direction is generally solid and, in some scenes, flawless, the film’s middle act has instances when it seems repetitive and exposition-heavy. The strength of the climax and denouement almost renders such concerns moot, but they cannot be completely dismissed, since they prevent this film from ascending to the pinnacle of superhero movies.

All in all, Rakesh Roshan´s Krrish is a delight to watch for its performances, some songs, and an interesting story line.A must see...
