KTM Duke 200 is a pocket rocket no doubt. I kept this motorcycle for more than 3 years and traveled Agra, Chandigarh, Kasol, Shimla and many more places. I think I can provide honest review as I have mixed riding style.
-Fuel Economy: It has fairly good fuel economy in its category. I have even clocked 60 kmpl on Delhi road when I continuously drove it at a speed of 50-55 kmph. LOL. Yes one can get good fuel economy from Duke if use it like commuting motorcycle. Overall fuel economy that I used to get from Duke was around 35-40 KMPL which is fairly nice I would say for 200 cc motorcycle.
-Comfort: I talk about comfort first as without comfort it’s really hard to travel or even commute on a motorcycle. Honestly, Duke is not at all comfortable compared to any other bike in its category. Its seat is very hard even if you purchase aftermarket cushion cover for it. Believe me when I say this. Duke was pain in back when I traveled to Kasol in Himachal Pradesh. Reason is Duke’s hard suspension.
-Reliability: It’s a good motorcycle but I wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for a motorcycle which keep on running in adverse conditions. First of all bike is completely depends on battery, if battery goes down you would stuck. It happened with while I was returning from office. I faced starter coil problem just after a year, changed disc pads, front fork oil, chain sprocket sets whenever the Service Center asked me. I always keep my vehicles in good conditions and never wait for some problem to come and that’s why I always get my Duke serviced on or before its due date. However, I still faced these issues. Engine warranty is valid for only 2 years which means there is very high probability of you getting a huge bill on your pocket after 2 years.
-Handling: Handling is awesome. I can’t say a word against handling of Duke 200. Though, they don’t give option of ABS in 200, I think it’s fairly manageable. Brakes work on time and you can enjoy small skids on it without getting a feel of going down. I will give 3 stars out of 5 for handling.
-Looks: Duke still doesn’t look old or outdated motorcycle on road. Even after 3 years, people used to ask me while standing in traffic jam or Red light, is it a new motorcycle. And when I used to say that it’s 3 years old, their jaw used to drop. It’s true, looks earn 4 stars for Duke 200.
