A Beast That Can Perform

I bought a black one from Khivraj motors, Kasturba Rd Bangalore. I won’t go in detail about config or the price...You can find it elsewhere. This is purely about me and my Duke 200.

This beast... was my first ever bike always wanted to buy a bike with my own money so saved up money and bought this beast and trust me, it rocks. I, on purpose, never rode any bikes ever till then and at 28, I dont regret it. My bike, from my money, trust me its a nice feeling. would never had cherished it this much if had got a bike from dad.

First and foremost, I got mileage of 55 Km/l on highway and around 48-50 in Bangalore traffic. Now this, I get in city only if am maintaining speeds between 35-55. It can be your splendor in city if you want it to be. And on Highway, I was driving between 70-90 almost 75% Weight (entire engine) is under you when you driving it so you can really feel grounded even at high speeds and you can feel the forward push you get when you rev up this babe. Concept of pillion rider in this bike is a joke unless you want a super hot babe holding on to you for her dear life when you are blasting through on highways.

Pickup of this bike is the best part and you really need to see the faces of other bikers on your mirrors when you take off at traffic signals. 0-60KM/h is matter of just 4-5 sec max even for a novice like me. others are really put to shame. The pull at higher gear is also sweet. On highway, I had to slow down as the bus ahead of me stopped at a bus stop. at that point, I was going @ 20 at 5th gear.

Opposite to me was a truck coming and when the bus suddenly moved, I just reved it up without down gearing and in no time, @ 5th gear I was doing 80 and I dont even remember when I over took the bus and crossed the truck.

Info display is one heck of a beauty on this bike. mileage, odo, side stand down indicator, 2 trip meters, Km to next servicing, distance to refuel and what not?? and when you drive it on roads, people watch it with wide open mouths. Another thing I liked about this bike is when I stop and put the side stand down at any gear and lower it with clutch held, the engine switches off automatically.

I know this review is totally useless for hardcore bikers. I guess its more for novices like me who want something grand and premium and want to use it more for the comfort it gives you than the thrill of speed. Seats surely could be softer but handling, suspensions (Rajeev_Vermacially in city traffic), display etc makes it a sure delight to drive.

I would def recommend people thinking about pulsars or unicorns to go for this bike if they can shell some extra bucks because it surely is worth it. Its something special. There is more to it than just speed and nakedness.
