Good bike

KTM’s gutsy “Ready to Race” mantra is essentially true. The Austrian company has long committed to building competition-spec bikes for serious riders, and it has been rewarded with numerous off-road, motocross and even supercross championships. The bikes don’t follow the Japanese pack either, as many of the dirt models feature electric starting. In other ways, KTM holds back – such as by retaining chrome-moly steel frames instead of going aluminum. Both enduro and motocross models come in two- and four-stroke varieties, with much of the lineup receiving significant upgrades for 2016. But there’s more to the KTM motorcycle range than just knobbies. The dual-sport crowd is buzzing about the new 1190 Adventure R with stability control, while pavement devotees can choose between the 690 Duke, 1190 RC8 R superbike or outrageous new 2016 1290
