Absolutely lovely! Kubo and the Two Strings looks, feels, sounds like a possible Oscar winner in the animated category. No detail is left to chance in this thing. The animation here is so beautiful, and imagine, no 3D needed. A movie that is about storytelling, is also one with many fantastic themes. Mother/son relationship, the bond between father and son, dealing with grief over the loss of a loved one, forgiveness, tolerance and I never got the feeling Kubo was preaching to us. Maybe what I liked most is that the movie doesnt sugar coat things to go for the super happy every thing is okay ending. My one down side of the movie is that I find it funny that in a Japanese story, only white actors voiced the main characters and to me that was a little distracting. However, I was pretty much mesmerized during the film. Cynical folks may role their eyes at the film, but parents join your kids and go see this movie, you will be glad you did!
