Kung Fu Panda has been hugely awaited by die-hard fans of this franchise. The initial impressions seemed quite good, and funny based on the trailers. However, the real movie lacks a bit of a thrust. Like the last two movies, this one too packs a lot of humor and excitement. However, it has a monotonous storyline. As the story proceeds, we very well can predict how it going to go, ecause it is typical, and we all just wait for the Grand Finale to see how Po defeats the evil at the end, sans a few jokes here and there. The story starts with where the last one ended, and as we have seen in the trailer, he meets his dad and the secret panda village. In this movie, there is nothing like a suspense that we can wait to be revealed, nor is there a great story to look forward to. But the jokes do make up for that loss. However, with a movie length of just above an hour ( excluding the names of companies in the beginning and the credits at the end) , it seems too short, and we wouldve loved to see some more story, and spice.
The movie is very fast paced, and you wont realize how you reached the end so soon. One of the major shortcoming is how the movie makers have adjusted everything how they want it to happen, and not actually how it should be going. For example, ( spoiler alert) when the valley is attacked, and only tigress remains, it is really immature how the scroll about Kay has just fallen near her, and she picks it up and runs to inform Po ( too easy for her, no? ). And also, she reaches Po considerably quicker than Kay, and Po has a lot of time, actually to train the whole Panda village before Kay arrives, although Kay seems to have left for the village just a few moments after tigress ( and obviously he is the more powerful one here) . There are a couple of more such blunders which you wont help noticing.
FINAL VERDICT: It does live upto its reputation of being completely comical, but most of the things seem forced, and the length is too short. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND YOU TO WATCH IT IN THEATRES. INSTEAD, WAIT FOR SOME TIME. IT IS SURE TO HIT THE TV SCREENS SOON.
