For those who enjoyed last years release “Masti”, please do not miss “Kya Kool Hain Hum”.
For those who couldn’t find anything funny in Masti, AVOID this one like the plague.
For this is nothing but Masti Part 2.
The look and feel of the film is exactly the same
Why, even one of the heroes is the same
While Masti was more tautly directed and racy, KKHH tends to drag a bit in parts.
The basic plot is one of comedy of errors. Add two young unemployed men mouthing sexual innuendoes, cross dressers, mad psychiatrists, whip and tongue lashing lady inspectors and you have got it.
Although its not laugh-a-minute riot, it comes close.
While there is ample skin on display, I didn’t find it too vulgar (or maybe my standards are improving these days)
Annu Malik’s music is a big let-down. Masti had good songs and good dance items. But the music of KKHH will drag down the film. That Rishi Rich troupe song was oh-so-boring. I nearly fell asleep.
KKHH lacks the presence of mad Archana Puransingh. Shoma Anand just cannot come close.
Anupam Kher tries to do a Boman Irani and is fairly effective.
Tusshar Kapoor (is that the spelling now) plays a young innocent dress designer. Innocent is something that he has played in all his movies so far. So nothing different.
Ritiesh Deshmukh (sheesh, these spellings) sort of repeats his Masti role but maybe is a bit more savvy.
Neha Dhupia…was she also in the cast? Oh yeah, she had like 2 and half scenes. Bobby Darling had more of presence than Neha. Poor darling!
But the show belongs to Ishaa Koppikar. As a feminist lady inspector Urmila Mar-tod-kar (yes, thats the name!), she is brilliant as the terrifying officer who is sent on an undercover operation. In the seduction scenes, she looks really hot. And in the scene when she wears a saree, Gawd, she could give all our top actresses a run for their money! One more glaring example of fine talent not getting its due!
