Still a long way to go for Kyazoonga.com

My experience at Kyazoonga.com forced me to register this Mouthshut ID ! I was inclined to try out this online booking website after I saw some ads about "jumping the queue".

Well, my first impression about this site was that it is very well designed, detailed in information and user friendly. Loading times are decent on a broadband connection. I was really looking forward to book tickets but the moment I did that, all the good impression created was undone with a resounding thud.

I booked two tickets at Sion Cinemax for an evening show, selected the tickets and the mode of payment. (Theatre: Sion Cinemax, Show: 28/6/09 , 1730hrs, Payment: Rs. 273, Payment by : ICICI NETBANKING)

So far so good. I chose my netbanking account (as I usually do) and the funds transfer was complete.

But horror of horrors, when I was re-directed to the booking window, all I could see was this message in bold red:

"Sorry! Your ticket purchase could not be completed."

I hurriedly opened my netbanking account only to see that that the money has already been deducted :(

So here I was, two-tickets poorer and no real tickets to show for it. This was really frustrating. What added to my misery was that their "Contact Us" link had NO PHONE NUMBER WHATSOEVER!!

Just a mail address of their Delhi and Mumbai offices and a form for the customer complaint department. Unbelievable!

I think if an online service is created, one of the first things that should be added on the website is the PHONE NUMBERS, so that consumers at least have the option of informing any mishaps (like the one in my case.)

I did a quick Google search and found a number for the Mumbai Office. Fortunately, it worked.

Just in case anyone wants it, it is +912226375659. ;)

The gentleman on the line listened to me patiently and told me that he would get back on the problem. When he called me back after 5 minutes he told me that tickets could not be booked on Sion Cinemax on that day. They were apparently facing some problem with that particular theatre.

He further assured me that my money would be refunded as soon as I sent an email to their customer service department.

Well, my money was surely refunded after 5 days, but this experience surely left a bitter aftertaste!

All said and done about the design, user-friendliness etc. of this site, the purpose of the site is surely defeated if users can’t reliably get through the booking process.

Needless to say, although I might use this site for getting information about upcoming/available movies and other events, I will surely not get my hands burnt again trying to book tickets on it! Neither would I recommend you to do it!
