It is really an ill-fate that no release touching even 70% MS recommendation on Diwali and Id.
About Kyun Ki……Gosh.
Salmaan Khan plays Anand, got mad after he killed his fiancée in an accident (the most illogical scene, as nobody comes to save sinking Rimi Sen from a crowded party). He is admitted in a private asylum run by Om puri (I don’t know how a retired army General can become an asylum doctor? Is it the same :-D). Jackie and Kareena are doctors at the asylum. Kareena plays daughter of Om Puri and is engaged to Sunil Shetty.
Yes….now you can guess, Kareena falls in love with Salmaan during his treatment. He sings the same song Salmaan sang for his fiancée….The father got angry as he know about the doctor-patient affair….He tries to break the pair by the hook or the crook…..Sunil Shetty being the nice guy helps Kareena to meet Salmaan…and Jackie does the mercy killing act.
The first one hour of movie is stuffed with decades old PJs. The only sequence that can hold you in the seat is Salmaan –Rimi romance. The way Salmaan proposes Rimi Sen is going to be the hot thing, especially “I Love You” reveals from the car window.
Performance wise, all are good, but Salmaan is the best. Unlike “Tere Naam”, here he makes fun with staff and patients of the asylum.
Direction and Editing are the worst parts of the movie. Sound recorder, must be his first film and so much fascinated about echo effect. You will listen to echoes in every scene of the movie, whether it is in valley, in church or in 10’ x 10’ room.
No wonder, if Kyun Ki…would be an Ekta Kapoor film.
