The film with its casting and good promos had a fair degree of hype and

people went to watch it with great expectations. their expectations get

further raised as the film starts and camera traverses through the

beautiful coorg. but alas their hopes die frame by frame as the film progresses.

good visuals, great cinematography, but where is the story? and what about

performances?? the film had litle answers to these questions.

The story starts with a car race at coorg. the boy meets the girl in

train (in an unrealistic scenario even by hindi film standards).but wait, the

girl was going to his house only to write some(god knows which) exam. the

boy and girl engage in some frolics and inevitably fall in love. but the boy

doesn’t understand his own emotions then, and he is interested only in

’arranged marriage’ !!. the dejected girl gets back to her place. but the girl

sure has a guardian angel , in form of uncle A, who with some generous help by

the boy’s parents, arranges ’love’ .the boy is brought to realization that

he loves no body but the girl, and the film limps to a happy ending.

The film has its plusses though. the cinematography in bollywood has

really come a long way and technology now forms an integral part of our

films. this film is no different .the scenic beauty of coorg is very

well shot and so does the race at the beginning of the film. the film is

essentially for urban viewers with the bowling alleys and all.the music

is different , though not better than contemporary films. the songs like

’pyar mein sau uljhane’ is good to hear is is perhaps inspired by

musicals(like west side story) .the film can be watched for these positive points

alone.

The minuses are too many . the story is patchy and often incoherent.

the characters are not cut out properly and appear unreal. for example, the

hero keeps saying that he does not know what loosing is, and looses a race

in the first 10 minutes. the victor never appears again on screen after the

dance in tavern. towards the end too many characters appear from the closet in a

very unconvincing way.

Performance wise, vivek has put in real hard effort, though at times

he tried too hard.aishwaya rai was as usual at her fanPlastic best, though

she looked amazingly beautiful in some frames.she has put on some weight

and looked even better to an indian eye.amitabh should steer away from

such roles. rati agnihotri leaves one with a taste of saccharine overdose.

om puri was wasted.tinu anand though appears amiable, and so does vivek’s

friend in the film. the film left too many wires dangling, but sadly failed to

create any spark.
