An overrated film...nothing special & no smooc

PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE REVEALED SOME IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT THE FILM- SPOILERS AHEAD! I watched this film first day first show because I was so excited about it, but my excitement did die down after the first half hour! I’m not gonna say much about the storyline because I guess people already know it so I’ll just talk about the film and the performances. Aishwarya sports a natural look in this film- a bit like Preity Zinta in Dil Chahta Hai.

Aish has put on some weight and she looks good and healthy- she also sports a curly hairstyle hence the Preity Zinta in DCH connection. Vivek manages to be comical in certain parts- he does make you laugh with his one-liners. The only irritating thing is that he kept on saying ’love and losing aren’t in my vocabulary’- I don’t think that’s true because in the film he loses several things and he does fall in love. The film has some really beautiful scenery- especially right at the beginning when it starts off.

I was really dissapointed with the songs because I thought they were nothing special. ’Aao Na’ is a mesmerizing number and is shot in a romantic sense- THE ONLY SONG WORTH LOOKING AT!!! I think the film was better in the first half because this this is when we have the main Aish-Vivek moments. But there is nothing extraordinary about their pairing- it does not have any ’wow’ factor. In fact, I think that their relationship in this film was more like a friendly one than a love-based one. Aish looks too mature for Vivek.

The main reason I went to watch this film was to decide on their chemistry and I was a bit disappointed. Oh yeah and people are saying that there is a smooch between them in this film- what smooch??? the only time they kiss is at the end of the song ’Aao Na’ and that is not even a proper kiss- they just kiss from a distance and from a certain camera angle that makes it look like they are kissing when they are really just facing each other from the side. Diya Mirza does not even have a proper role in this film- she appears for like 5 seconds and that too at the END of the film- she plays Sunil Shetty?s real wife-to-be- hint plot revealed! She has been wasted.

I also think that Amitabh Bachchan has been wasted because in this film he acts like he is high on drugs or something and there is no seriousness to his characterisation- he spends his time amongst children and acts like a child as well!!! Sunil Shetty is only there to act like he and Aish are to marry- and the whole point is that they are tricking Vivek Oberoi so that he professes his feelings to Aish- THAT IS THE BASIC PLOT IN THE SECOND HALF!!!

Again, I preferred the first half as the second half was just plain boring!!! I think everyone should see the film ONCE only and decide for themselves. It is an average fare. Oh yeah and you can see this film with your whole family because it is a truly clean film- no hanky-panky so that is one other good thing! I hoped my review is helpful and useful!
