Generally, I not write on movies and ’’ Lagaan ’’ is a old movie, so maybe you feel it uninteresting to read. But something more what I felt to write upon this movie is leadership qualities. The most requsite quality required in students by top Business school in India.
Leaders, who dare to challenge the opportunities, grasp the opportunities and convert them into realities. Exactly, the Bhuvan (Aamir khan) presents a true leaders role in Lagaan. Don’t make any political leaders sense here if indian context is in mind.
A strong presentation made by B-schools grads in Business communication class, had taken the example of Lagaan movie and showed true related clips.
I highly influenced by this movie because of some unbeatable leadership qualities shown by Bhuvan.
1- Follower- A good leader is a very good follower. This is the basic mantra of Leaders. When Bhuvan challenged British team, he understand the situation. Without the help of his villagers, he was unable to make a team of 11 people. But he showed strength of followership and make a rock solid cricket team of 11 persons.
2- Accept the Challenge- Here challenge is just like a opportunity. Bhuvan taken the challenge to play with British team. He accepted, if won- they will not pay Lagaan but in other side if lost, they will pay triple Lagaan. This also show another quality of leadership. RISK TAKING CAPABILITY.
3- Motivator- Villagers horrified by Bhuvan’s step. But he motivated them to take the challenges of ODD situations.
4- Decision Making- Decision making capability at right time and right place always give the perfect results. He had taken many strong decisions which you can find in various stages of movie.
5- Conflict Handler- Even Bhuvan was a true lover. When Gauri wrongly interpreted him about affair with British lady, he handled situations smartly.
Others qualities what I found, Fight till the end, Hardworking, Loving, Caring, Never loosing attitude, winner acumen, team building, managing, planning etc.
Others fellow of the movie had given wonderful performance like dedicated employees of an organization. Gauri (Gracy singh) looked really beautiful. She didn’t disappointed the director for his longtime search for heroine. A. R. Rahman proved his talent. Brilliantly composed lyrics and music.
