“I have nothing new to teach the world. Truth and non-violence are as old as the hills.”
-M.K. Gandhi
For years “gandhism”(rather truth and non-violence) has been taught to people all round the world but this movie seems to have some unique way of doing that.
Most of the people think that gandhism is an old story which can only be read in the current scenario but cannot be implemented and used. “Lage raho” has been successful in breaking this myth. The movie simply tells us that the concept of truth and non-violence are not very tough to use in normal course of life, what all we need is a bit of determination and belief.
I have been reading “Gandhi” and related literature for last 3-4 years and came across various meaning of it. A lot of people say that gandhism is related to non-violence and truth which makes you feeble, now let me ask a question to all of my friends who have the same sort of view. “Do you think Azim Premji” is a person who is feeble? I have heard several times that he is an ardent follower of gandhism.
I think what all we need is to understand the concept of “satyagraha” and “truth and non-violence” In a proper manner because these are not the concepts which makes you weak rather these are the ones which will teach you how to face every reality of life with courage and vigor. It will give you extreme energy.
Another aspect of truth and non-violence with which the movie deals in a beautiful manner is that these are the concepts which are available in each and every person but we need to realize this reality and try to make it stronger with constant effort just like a gangster “munnabhai” could do in the movie.
Both Munnabhai and circuit are for sure the best part of the movie and the chemistry between both of them is fantastic. I think these characters will be in the memories of people for many years to come.
Thanks to Rajkumar Hirani who could dare to make a movie on forgotten “gandhism” and its values and the best part of the story is that it “teaches not preaches”. Every aspect of gandhism has been so beautifully and with contemporary touch. The script is fantastic and the best part is that you don’t have to put much of your head to understand it
Some of the best scene form the movie was;
1) Munnabhai saying sorry to circuit.
2) Munnabhai and circuit going to jail for the first time(it was hilarious)
3) Munnabhai asks victor to tell the truth to his father.
My friends, at last I would like to say just one thing that go and watch the movie and please don’t be prejudiced about anything related to “Gandhi”, you will surely be able to explore a lot of new aspects of truth and non-violence.
